DC TONGZHI REUNION

super good times

DAY 1

Things got off to a very late start with Chu, Tim, Roger, and Allen having delays with their flights due to poor weather conditions here in the DC area. We planned to meet up around midnight I think, our rendezvous pushed back to around 01:30. I hadn't seen anyone since Memorial Day weekend, but many things have changed since then. Roger presented a painting of me playing guitar in a very neat shade of life force rawk green AND a bag of the infamouse SO CHEEL, I really appreciate it man and will return the favor in the future.

After dropping off luggage, we quickly embarked for KABOB PALACE, the most patriotic kabob place in America. I was slow to notice that everyone was wearing Tiger brand shoes:

The food was incredible, it easily shits all over Pita Inn. Discovering this place within the past year, I calculated that this would be greatly enjoyed by my fellow Tongzhi. The meat and naan are the best parts of KABOB PALACE. PWN SCORE: 1/1 After devouring our meals, we made the mile walk back home and stopped by the grocery store to buy chocolate chip break and bake cookies as well as pistachio gelato to celebrate Sean's birthday. I think we got back around 04:00. We started the shower line, with Allen forgetting to bring his towel. We suggested Allen to use his old clothes, but he was reluctant to do so. Roger also remarked he didnt want anyone's crotch rubbing up against his towel XD. With the shower line in motion, I took some time to smash it up with Tim, YES. With dawn approaching, Chu hit the sack a little early. Everyone followed soon and claimed their spot on the floor. I crawled into bed around 06:00, and had a little trouble falling asleep to the snorechestra, it was quite the experience.

We woke up between 09:00 and 09:30, excitedly waiting Sean's arrival. A quick compilation of the phenomenon known by many as sleeping asians:

With Sean's arrival we changed plans for lunch. Originally, we planned to head over to Yuraku in Germantown, MD for sushi buffet. With the total 3 hour commute and abandoned Baltimore plans, there were too many logistical cockblocks. We decided to save the commute time and money, and headed over to GOOD STUFF in Crystal City for burgers and shakes. We walked through the winding underground, which beared a resemblance to other Asian cities.

Everyone enjoyed their meals, with the common theme being substituting the shake for another burger. The variety of mayo sauces was a delight. PWN SCORE: 2/2

Upon returning home, we bro'd out... jamming on drums and betrayal.

We set off for the B'z show in Silver Spring, MD. There we met up with Allen's tofu friend. A quick aside: I only knew 2 B'z songs: "Monster" and "Happy Birthday". Roger got the pillows confused with B'z and was surprised to find that "Last Dinosaur" would not be played that night. Secretly Roger and I planned to ruin the show for everyone. Together with Tim, we went to CVS to purchase some dranks and ear plugs. Chu, Sean, and Allen went to pickup tofu and swag. We were a little surprised there were many old women waiting in line for the show. We realized that we could not refer to them as obasan, so I suggested obi-3 kenobis as the catch word. With this little trick, the poor obi-3 kenobis would be totally unaware of our mischief.

The show was amazing, easily the most I have ever sweat at a concert and hands down the best mixed concert I have been to. The vocals were very clear and sweet. Both guitars were audible and sounded great. The bass was defined and powerful, and the drums sounded like they were trying to skull fuck you, which was great. Live music is always enjoyed more in good company, and I had a really great time hyping everything up and performing a "Sing for China" Redux. PWN SCORE: 3/3

By the second song, we successfully started a mini "mosh" pit. A couple japanese dudes happily joined us in pissing off everyone around us. Throughout various points of the concert, we chanted "PATAAAAAA", "HEATHHHHH" (a few people turned around and started oddly at us, knowing the reference), "USA", "MURICA", "SILVER SPRING", "BEEZ KNEEZ", and "J KILLA". We were so pro and so cheel, Tim also successfully caught the drummer's stick:

B'z really milked the shit out of the audience encore chants, but it was worth it. I ran out of energy by the end =\. To restore our pwnergy we went for another round of kabobs afterward! Off to Afghan Kabob Palace in Courthouse, Arlington.

I was lucky to jump on 2 groupon deals for this place so we got a combined 40 dollars off. The food was again too good, I recommended the hummus and mild sauce combo, which indeed was just too fucking gud. I think we reached consensus on the Kabob Palace vs Afghan Kabob Place debate. The meat and bread at Kabob Palace are better, but Afghan Kabob Place has better rice and amazing sauce. Original plans to hookah were abandoned, as everyone's throat was dead and smoking was most likely not going to help. PWN SCORE: 4/4

Got back home around 12:30, no idea what happened after that.

DAY 2

Day 2 was super cheel. Woke up and dicked around until Toe Knee came.

To celebrate Comrade Soon Chon Chon's birthday we combined break and bake cookies with gelato.

We continued the weekend of gluttony with a stop at Ray's Hell Burger. Unsuccessfully attempted to convince Sean to eat two burgers. Goddamnit Vince, needed your pro lying skillz. PWN SCORE: 5/5

From 2012-09-29 DC TONGZHI DAY 2

We quickly followed it up with some milk tea from TNR and then a trip to the Mall and the Air Space Museum. We all wanted to heil Hitler in front of a german aircraft but wisely judged against it. Pretty much everyone was too tired bawls mcgee and we were all still aching from the Bz show and way too much butt secks.

I kinda ran out of ideas for dinner, so we decided to eat somewhere near Pentagon City. Ended eating at some random pizza joint in Crystal City. Allen was MVP cause he got a 50% off check (up to $25) for checking in on foursquare lol. PWN SCORE: 6/6

Bill ended up being something like 6 bucks per person LOL. The rest of the night was spent playing betrayal in the dark with fake fires using ipads, phones, and youtube XD.

MVP of the night was Roger, he baited everyone into farming Chapel before dynamiting everyone. Needless to say we got hopelessly assphucked once the haunt started.

And so concluded our weekend. Special shoutouts to the metro for taking us everywhere.
